CHEVROLET
CHEVROLET AVEO
The Aveo is available as a 4-door saloon and a 5-door hatchback car. It offers good accommodation for a car its size. The car is well built and the quality of materials used, fit and finishing are also reasonable for an entry-level model. The 1.4-litre 4-cylinder engine powers the car with either a manual or an automatic gearbox. The Aveo feels reasonably quick out on the road despite the engine’s meager power output.
CHEVROLET OPTRA
Chevrolet’s 1.6-litre saloon class comes in the form of the Optra, or Daewoo Nubira or Suzuki Firenza, as other markets know it as. The Optra is a 4-door saloon that offers good interior space and decent performance. The Optra’s 1598cc engine pumps out 109bhp and 150Nm of torque. The Optra is made in General Motors’ manufacturing plant in Thailand.
CHEVROLET LUMINA
Basically a rebadged Holden Commodore, the Lumina offer a big space and reasonable pace. The build quality is surprising worthy but the styling is a tad nondescript. The car comes with a big capacity 3.8-litre V6, power output is 207bhp and with torque at a massive 305Nm. The Lumina transmits its Aussie grunt to its rear wheels which means over steer on demand and will be fun to enthusiasts and keen drivers.
