MITSUBISHI
MITSUBISHI COLT
The Colt is a funky car featured in a mono-box design. It combines the elements of a compact MPV to a supermini. Innovative front ‘couple seats’ make it easy to cosy up your other partner. At the same time, the room space at the rear is also quite roomy and won’t feel cramped behind. Ride and handling is focus towards comfort rather than performance. The new Colt Plus Turbo will take the form of the usual familiar five-door.
MITSUBISHI AIRTREK
This bold looking sports activity vehicle is categorized into 2 versions. The normal specification and the evolution-derived two-litre turbocharged under its bonnet. Though its power with AWD transmission, hard cornering is a scary affair due to the higher centre of gravity, but straight road acceleration in the turbocharged variant is truly aspiring. Non-turbo lack the ‘rhino’s horn bonnet scoop and awesome performance but the interior makes it a practical lifestyle proposition.
MITSUBISHI GALANT
Mitsubishi’s executive sedan is aggressively styled and boasts strong masculine lines.
The interior is effectively executed with switches and levers ergonomically positioned and user-friendly to the driver. The Galant is fully equipped with multi-adjustable manual leather seats, electronic climate control and a well-appointed interior with ample room space for all the occupants. Unfortunately, the Galant is beginning to suffer from dated styling and aesthetics as it started to lose ground to newer and more freshly-styled rivals. But indeed, the Galant VR4 was one of the truly great muscle car with its twin-turbo powerplant.
MITSUBISHI GRANDIS
Currently Mitsubishi largest MPV is a sporty and sleek affair that appears in the face of a conventional 7-seater styling unlike the previous Chariot. The front end features the brand’s current corporate look- although the effect is more daring on this car than on the colt and facelifted Lancer. The driving experience is more akin to sporty hatch than lumbering behemoth.
MITSUBISHI LANCER
The new facelifted Lancer features a front-end replica of the evolution. Powered by a 1.6litre SOHC engine, it can run 4 adults comfortably on the cabin, thanks to the car’s generous wheelbase. Suspension is comfort, rather than performance biased, but is still good enough to handle the worst our local roads can dish up.
MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER
The Outlander boasts a distinctive, aggressive snout that warns other road user into moving aside for you as you bear down on them. The Outlander’s combination of sportiness and functionally is well-illustrated by water repellant seats that can fold and be flipped for added versatility, and the large diameter roof rails. Nice 16-inch alloy rims and a prominent rear spoiler help to top off the mud-ploughing styling of the car.
MITSUBISHI PAJERO
The Pajero has been in the Mitsubishi model line-up for as long as many can remember, with only the recent revisions to the interior and exterior. The five-door variant features the 3-litre engine, although there is word that the three-door with a 3.5-litre GDI engine is to be resurrected. The Pajero is beginning to look and feel dated, especially on the inside, although passengers enjoy a commodious and large cabin, with a surprising level of carrying versatility.
